Natural Maple Cabinets in Long Settlement, NB

Here is a makeover for those of you who love the beauty of natural wood cabinets.

Thanks to Richard and June Walton, of Long Settlement NB, for letting us be a part of their kitchen reno.

We started out with a set of painted plywood cabinets, which were state-of-the-art in 1940, when Richard’s parents took over the farm and renovated the kitchen. Richard’s grandfather had purchased the farm in the 1920’s.  The current homeowners moved to the home about 12 years ago, and decided to start thinking about a full kitchen reno.

Our designer, Jim, sat down with the couple to come up with a solution that would allow for more counter space and storage.

Renovations began, the existing kitchen was removed, and the space was prepared for the new cabinets. The homeowner’s son, Jeremy, completed most of the renovation work himself, while Carl Rattray was in charge of electrical.

Now let’s see what the completed kitchen looks like! Homeowners opted for a Natural Maple with a Raised Panel solid-wood door.

A large walk in corner pantry gives plenty of space for dried goods. A huge increase from the original storage!
