We have a beautiful before and after that brings an extraordinary amount of light and space to an existing home, going from divided rooms to an open living space.
A big thank you to Gary and Rosemary Boyle, Quispamsis, who allowed Avondale to be a part of their kitchen makeover.
The homeowners started out with an enclosed oak kitchen, with plans to open up the space and create an open floor plan to encompass kitchen, dining, and living room. Contractors Danny and Troy Clements of Clover Valley Construction took care of the reno details. (Contact info below)
Let’s take a look at the before photos to get a feel for the space. You can see the enclosed spaces for both the kitchen and dining area, which will be removed in the renovation.
Once walls were removed, and cabinets were replaced, the space becomes a beautiful, bright open living area.
Notice that the window was brought down to the counter to allow maximum light to enter the kitchen, as well as a full glass sliding patio door.
The new kitchen is equipped with a double high volume garbage can. Garbage bags can easily be changed out by removing the provided clips and replacing the bag. Use one side for trash and the other for recyclables.
A white two-drawer Fisher&Paykel DishDrawer™ allows one smaller load of dishes to run, or both drawers simultaneously. This DishDrawer comes in both white and stainless, and is supplied by Avondale.
A stand up pantry with pull-out shelves is generous enough to hold all dry groceries, while a pull out shelf above the fridge is the perfect spot to store items you don’t use on a daily basis. Above the pull out pantry is a glassed in wine rack.
Deep drawers with heavy duty slides are the perfect place to store bake ware, pots and pans. Also notice the pull out to the right of the drawer with an insert for storing cookie sheets.
