This beautiful renovation proves that even a smaller home deserves a fantastic custom kitchen. A huge thank you to Judy Rathburn in Kingston Peninsula for choosing Avondale for this exciting project. The original mobile home was built in 1969, with a basement and addition completed in 1972.
Let’s take a look at the before shot, pre-renovation. Notice the tape on the floor where a corner china cabinet will be located. The white tape helps homeowners visualize where extensions and cabinets will be located.
And the after! Painted cabinets bring in lots of light, creating a bright and spacious kitchen area. The dishwasher has been moved next to the sink, and the stove has been relocated to the opposite wall.
This before shot gives you a view of the original dining room with plywood storage cabinets:
You can see that the stove has been moved from it’s original location to create a dedicated cooking area. A large pantry next to the stove is perfect for all dried goods storage.
A before shot, showing the TV above the refrigerator, and microwave above the dishwasher:
A larger fridge was installed with cabinets above for special storage. The microwave was moved from above the dishwasher, and replaced with a microwave range hood, keeping the small appliance off the counter.
A pull out pantry next to the stove allows ample space for dried goods, and easy access when cooking. The top shelves are home to a collection of cookbooks.
A flip up toaster garage is the perfect place to store small, frequently used appliances and cutting boards, to keep the main counters neat and tidy.
A Fisher & Paykel Double Dish Drawer is an elegant and functional addition to the new kitchen. Each drawer can be run separately, with virtually no operating noise.
With specific spots for everything from spices to dish towels, keeping organized is a breeze in this new Avondale Kitchen!
